Safe Boat Training, Sault College, 2014.

Each fall the Sault College Staff conducts safe boating training with first-year Natural Environment Technician/Technology students from Sault College at the Algoma Sailing Club facilities.

At the dock we review safe starting procedures, parts and controls on the motor and safety equipment requirements. While boating we emphasize safe handling of the boat, proper steering techniques and we show and explain to them the various navigational aids on the river ie lateral buoys, range markers etc. We also practice safe docking techniques and have them obey a "no wake" zone while in the mooring area.

The use of the Algoma Sailing Club facilities is a great help to us and we appreciate your support of our programs in this way.  For more information contact: Jeff Cartwright, Natural Environment Technologist, Sault College, (705) 759-2554 ext 2792
