An Algoma Sailing Club entry tacked its way to victory in the 2011 MacMan Challenge International Yacht Race.

Natural High, a yacht skippered by Sault Ste. Marie's Andrew Hallet, was overall winner of the annual two-leg race, from Mackinac Island, Mich. to Little Current, Ont., at the east end of Manitoulin Island, according to preliminary results.

Hallet was sailing an Abbott 33 crewed by Chuck Holgate, Alex Elder, Tom Carmichael and Jack Rice.

The first leg of the race sees boats sail from Mackinac Island to Gore Bay, Ont., a distance of 95 miles. The next day, boats travel the 28-mile distance from Gore Bay to Little Current, typically using spinnakers.

Natural High took first in Division A, and first in both legs of the race.

The Algoma Sailing Club and Hilton Beach fielded several entries in this year's race.

Among the top finishers were Skyship, an Algoma Sailing Club entry skippered by Gord Simpson. Skyship grabbed the Division B title, finishing first in Leg 1 and second in Leg 2.

Echo, skippered by Gerard Neave, of the Algoma Sailing Club, finished first in Division D, a division that only competes in the second leg of the race.

Hilton Beach entry Blue Teal, skippered by Bill Pickering, took third in Leg 1 of Division A, and fourth in Leg 2. Ben Leeuwestein skippered his HIlton Beach yacht Mist to fourth place in Leg one and third place in Leg 2. Aurora Borealis, skippered by Chris Gotmalm, took second in both legs in Division A.
