For Sale: Book; The Lake Captain 1812 (history,
fiction, 313 pages.) |
03/14/2019 |
The Lake Captain 1812: deals with a small forgotten chapter of Canadian
History during the War of 1812 which took place on Lakes Erie and Huron.
The Lake Captain is all about Captain Alexander Mackintosh and his ship
the Nancy, a 6 gun, eighty foot fur trader that was pressed into Royal
Navy Service during the war of 1812.
Ron Burgess was a high school history teacher of 30 years and the past
owner of North Huron Charters. Which operated out of Blind River with
sailing charters through out the North Channel of Lake Huron. Both of
these provided the background and inspiration for Ron to write his book.
Ron is currently a member of the Algoma Sailing Club.
For purchasing info, email
A.S.C. member
Ron Burgess for more details.
